Tanker Mary Whalen

Original use: Coastal oil tanker that loaded up fuel products in the port of New York and delivered them from Maine to Maryland and up rivers of the northeast.

Current use: Housing offices of PortSide NewYork, historic ship tours, mobile cultural platform (stage for performances, exhibits, and movies).

Built: Mathis Shipyard, Camden, 1938.

Dimensions: 172' LOA, 31.2' beam.

Original power: Fairbanks Morse 37E12 direct reversing diesel

Current power: Currently dead ship with engine parts being acquired for restoration.
